Mechanical Engineering Manager Do you want to help create the future of urban heating and cooling?  Driven by a deep sense of purpose and sky-high ambitions, we think differently at Qvantum. Entrepreneuring together, we take pride in being disruptable and constantly learn, re-learn and un-learn. Here, the best idea always wins – brilliance eats hierarchy for breakfast. Our vision is to build a more resilient society by electrifying indoor heating and cooling, across Europe and beyond. Join us!  Qvantum is a fast-growing Swedish energy-tech company accelerating the transformation of urban heating and cooling through intelligent heat-pump-powered energy systems. As a hardware-enabled software business, our technology powers modular heat pumps that we design and produce at speed and scale, built to integrate with local energy grids and electricity markets. Our heat pumps are flexready®, meaning they automatically can use electricity when it is cheapest and store the heat for later, enabling electrification, optimising the overall energy system, and saving money. All without compromising indoor comfort. The heat pumps are easy to install, monitor and maintain, and come in four categories: air/water, ground source, exhaust air and complete system solutions. Together, they target every home, whether a single-family house, an apartment building or an entire district. Qvantum is headquartered in Åstorp, Sweden, with sales offices and distributors across Europe. The company has two European manufacturing facilities. Backed by long-term blue-chip investors, including Thomas von Koch (ex EQT) and the IMAS Foundation (sister foundation to the INGKA Foundation, owning most of the IKEA stores globally), Qvantum has a vision to create a more resilient society by disrupting how we heat and cool buildings. About the role We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate our team of Mechanical Design Engineers within heat pump product development. This is a hands-on leadership role combining engineering, coordination, technical leadership, and team development while remaining close to the products, technology, and daily engineering work. The team consists of experienced engineers, meaning your role is less focused on enabling successful delivery, providing technical guidance, removing obstacles, and ensuring alignment across projects and engineering disciplines. You will work closely with System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Refrigeration, Electronics, Software, Project Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and external suppliers to ensure successful development and industrialization of next-generation heat pump solutions. Key responsibilities Lead and coordinate the Mechanical Design Engineering team across ongoing development projects and assignments. Drive the end-to-end product development process from concept and design through validation, industrialization, and commercial launch. Provide technical guidance and support in mechanical design reviews, engineering decisions, and problem-solving activities. Collaborate closely with System Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers. Ensure designs meet requirements for performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost, and quality. Support continuous improvement of engineering methods, tools, standards, and ways of working. Act as mentor and technical coach to team members. Support competence development, recruitment, and onboarding activities when needed. Desired qualifications & experience B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 10+ years of experience in mechanical product development in heat pump, HVAC, refrigeration, or similar products Minimum 3 years of experience in a managerial, team leader, or technical leadership role. Proven experience in mechanical design engineering for industrialized and mass-produced products. Experience leading development projects from concept phase through industrialization and product launch. Knowledge of CAD and PLM systems. Pragmatic and hands-on leadership with strong technical credibility. Solution-oriented communicator with the ability to drive progress in a fast-paced environment. Experienced collaborator with the ability to align cross-functional teams towards common goals. Fluent in English, written and spoken. Öppen för alla Vi fokuserar på din kompetens, inte dina övriga förutsättningar. Vi är öppna för att anpassa rollen eller arbetsplatsen efter dina behov.
