Are you passionate about automotive diagnostics, embedded systems, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability? ALTEN Gothenburg is now looking for a System Engineer / Diagnostic Designer-Tester to join our team and contribute to the development of harmonized base technology solutions for the complete vehicle. About the role Analyze system architecture and define diagnostic solutions Define system and software requirements for diagnostic design Deliver detailed diagnostic design solutions as input to implementation teams Perform system verification of design solutions Maintain diagnostic databases of diagnostic entities used by manufacturing and aftermarket teams Design and implement test cases to ensure quick and efficient known quality Monitor the execution of test strategies across the organization Ensure compliance with diagnostic standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 14229, SAE-J2012, SAE-1979) Define datapoints for analysis in backend and/or predictive maintenance Define control routines to support testing and workshop verification Author software requirements according to ASPICE (SYS and SWE) Structure, create, and maintain DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and related data Configure UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) services as needed for each sub-system Conduct hands-on testing and fault injection in vehicles and rigs Your profile B.Sc or M.Sc degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent years of experience Experience with embedded systems and software/hardware design for embedded systems Knowledge of diagnostic standards (ISO 14229, SAE-J2012, SAE-1979) Experience in reliable diagnostic monitor design Familiarity with automotive protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, UDS, XCP) Experience using test tools (e.g., CANalyzer, CANoe, Parallel Diag, DSA) Hands-on testing and fault injection in vehicles and rigs SW experience in reading code Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing Proficiency in Wireshark, Excel, Python, DLT Viewer Basic knowledge of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) Experience with Linux and/or WSL Swedish driving license (B) Fluent in English (both written and spoken) What we offer you?
